A carefully selected 10-year-old single malt from Glen Garioch, independently bottled under the Queen of the Moorlands name. Just 160 bottles have been released, each presented with artwork inspired by the historic Big Mill in Leek.
At 46% ABV, with natural colour and no chill filtration, The Big Mill marks the beginning of a new collection inspired by the heritage mills of our home town.
Tasting notes
“Honeyed malt and orchard fruits lead into soft vanilla, toasted oak and gentle spice. A subtly waxy texture develops with notes of citrus peel and biscuit before a long finish of warming oak, delicate pepper and lingering sweetness.”
Why “The Big Mill”?
Our inaugural release is named after Britannia Mill, affectionately known in Leek as the Big Mill. For generations, this landmark stood as a symbol of the town's rich silk-making heritage and the people whose skills shaped the Staffordshire Moorlands.
Its distinctive architecture lives on in the illustration on our label: a tribute to a significant part of Leek's industrial story.
